I am always on the lookout for natural skin care products that work and are gentle on my sensitive skin. I’ve had eczema and acne for years, and the only relief I’ve found is by avoiding harsh soaps and chemically laden products.
For the most part I don’t use soap on my face, but I do like to have something on hand for those days when I really need a good cleansing.
I was really excited to try another natural skin care company. I knew that if I liked them I would definitely buy from them in the future.
My Experience With Daisy Natural Skin Care
Daisy natural skin care is a line of natural body care products on Etsy. I’m really glad they contacted me to do this review because not only do I love to try natural skin care products, but I also love to support small businesses that care about keeping our bodies and our environment healthy.
They sent me 4 of their products to review and let me pick the scents or “flavors” that I wanted.
I chose to review:
- French vanilla Lip balm
- Lavender avocado body butter
- White ginger and amber honey oatmeal soap
- Fragrance free lotion stick
Opening the Box
One way I can really tell I’m getting a quality product to review is when just opening the box is pleasant, and that was certainly my experience with these products.
The aroma filled the room as soon as I opened the box and everything was neatly and beautifully wrapped. It felt like I was opening a present just for me!
Avocado Body Butter
I am always in need of a good natural moisturizer because my skin cannot stand most commercial lotions. I really like Daisy Natural’s whipped avocado body butter. It smells amazing and it’s very light and creamy.
Most body butters are very thick, but I didn’t have that experience with this one. It rubbed into my skin very easily, and I like the container because it let’s me have more control over how much I want to use.
My favorite use for it is on my hands and upper arms. It also makes a great foot moisturizer before bed. It almost feels like rubbing a very light whipped cream into your skin. So soft!
Honey Oatmeal Soap
The oatmeal soap actually has bits of oatmeal throughout the bar of soap, so it’s great for exfoliating your skin in the bath or shower. I really like this kind of soap if I’m going to use anything on my body.
Commercial soaps dry out my skin. This completely cleans my skin even better than commercial soaps and without making it feel overly dry.
Another thing I loved about this soap is that is lathers nicely but it doesn’t disintegrate too quickly even when sitting in my shower for weeks.
If you haven’t read about the side effects of using petroleum based products, I urge you to do so. Most lip balms and chap sticks sold commercially contain petroleum that can have damaging long-term effects on your lips and skin.
But there are plenty of natural lip balms like this one that can be bought by small natural skin care businesses. I love Daisy Natural’s lip balm. My middle son even brings it to me and asks for me to apply it to his chapped lips because he loves the scent and flavor so much.
It leaves our lips feeling soft and protected from the elements.
When I first opened the lotion stick, I was unsure of what to use it for. Then I realized that it’s great for certain spots where you just want some targeted moisture. I use it for my elbows as they tend to get dry and cracked.
The only issue I had was with the push-up container. It sometimes doesn’t want to stay “up”, but it doesn’t affect the usability of the lotion.
Daisy Natural Skin Care is a sponsor for our June Giveaway Splash and provided free product in exchange for this review. I was not required to write a positive review and all of the opinions expressed are my own.
